What is PR? There's no easy answer to that one. In short, it’s the part of marketing that isn’t sales effort, such as advertising and direct sales campaigns.
It can be:
Press releases – news or lengthier editorial items provided free to relevant publications and websites
Events – Promotional exercises which raise your profile and standing. The event could be a publicity ‘stunt’ or any event which captures the public imagination, such as a charity fundraiser. Or it could be something as simple as a round of golf with key customers
Company newsletters – In bigger companies, a superb tool to improve employee relations by giving recognition to your team’s contribution - but it will generate PR ideas which can be externalised.
Promotional Materials – Nobody’s going to buy a holiday on the strength of a branded diary. But when they do want to think about a holiday, the first name they encounter when they book time off is yours…
Crisis Management – Because, no matter how well-run your company is, things go belly up. It’s then that saying the wrong thing to the press can be a disaster
What’s the process?
Research – We talk to you about your company, products and services to establish what’s going on now. More importantly, we find out what you think you want to achieve.
Planning – We now come up with a plan or perhaps several plans. Working closely with you, we will come up with some bright ideas that will help raise your public profile. It’s up to you to choose which we use.
Budget – We see what’s achievable with the spend you have available and agree a schedule for a campaign
Action – We build databases of publications and other media relevant to your PR push and begin the campaign.
Review – We look at the result, and modify any under-achieving elements before moving on to another campaign
